Lately I feel like I have been drowning in blushes. I own way too many and want way too many. But oh well!
Wet N' Wild Mega Shield Lip Color with SPF 15 in Pink Champagne:
I have not picked up a Wet N' Wild product since the 7th grade(10 years ago) because I bought one back then and it was not even useable. I think I picked up one of their dollar lipsticks back then and while this is not from their dollar lipstick line (I think this was like..2-3$) I can really say that the quality of this lipstick compared to the one I used back then is much much better.
What the product claims:
Color, comfort, and care! Luxurious color delivers hours of
sheer-to-moderate coverage that glides on buttery-soft for a smooth,
moist-looking pout. Lips are pampered with Vitamin E, Amino Acids,
Avocado Oil, and Rice Bran Oil that moisturize and condition for silky,
soft comfort. And with SPF 15, lips are cared for and protected from
harmful UVB rays.
Packaging: It looks cheap but the product is cheap. It works perfectly fine though so I am quite alright with the packaging.
Consistency & Pigmentation: I do certainly agree that this product goes on buttery soft. This lipstick is not hard to apply at all because it is quite soft so thats nice. It is also fairly pigmented as you can see in the swatch for being such a light color. But that color is not the color I was expecting it to be and I honestly hate hate hate this color on my lips. Can you see how frosty that is?Frosty white pink lips really just do not flatter me. I'm not sure who would look nice with frosty pink lips but I know that I certainly do not.
On the lips.
I pretty much took this off immediately after putting it on. Maybe I hate this so much because I am used to having such dark lips but this color just really is not my cup o' tea.
Another thing that I cannot stand about this lipstick is how it sinks into the cracks in my lips. I really do not have dry lips but I feel like this lipstick makes them look dry so boo on that.
BASICS:
Pros:
-very inexpensive(2-3$)
-nice soft consistency
-the added SPF is great too
Cons:
-I thought the color would be different than what it is.
-frosty
-does not look flattering on me
-sinks into cracks in my lips
Would I recommend this?Gehheeh. Maybe if you like frosty pink lipsticks? If you can pull that off then go for it.
Wet N' Wild Color Icon Blush in Mellow Wine:
Everyone seems to rave about these blushes. And I really do understand why because they are so so inexpensive and pigmented. They also aren't powdery so thats good. I picked up this one because I don't have any colors like this in my blush collection and it sounded like a nice fall color.
What the product claims:
Sweep on this silky-smooth blush
that strikes the perfect balance between a blendable transparent sheen
and a radiant pop of maximum color. A special blend of treated nylon
powders provides long-lasting color. Dermatologist-tested.
Packaging: cheap looking but the blush is cheap. And anyway, I don't really give a crap about the packaging if the product inside is nice. Unless the product inside is made unusable by the packaging...in which case uh...poop.Its nice that this product comes with a brush for those who need it.
Swatched & Blended
Color & Consistency: PIGMENTED.I would suggest just softly touching your blush brush to this product or else you could get far to much. Also, this blush isn't really powdery so thats nice. I've worn this for long hours and did not notice any fading. Its just a really rather nice blush for the price. I think I am going to pick up another color because I'm not too crazy about how this color looks with my complexion.I'd have to say that for the price(about 3$) these blushes really should be a must have for anyone who has access to them.
Pros:
-PIGMENTED
-inexpensive(3$)
-not really powdery in my opinion(but powderyness doesn't really bother me so long as I can work with the product.)
-longlasting
Cons:
-the only con that I can think of to these is that they don't have a wide variety of colors. There is only 4.
Would I recommend this?Sure. At 3$ with the quality of these blushes you really cannot go wrong.
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso:
These are one of the prettiest looking blushes at the drugstore so I decided that I definitely needed one.
What the product claims:
A luxurious powder blush that features a mélange infusion of colors
baked on Italian terracotta tiles. Easy to use, sensorial in texture,
the nuances of color become extraordinarily luminous. Silky smooth
application leaves your face looking healthy and radiant all day.
Packaging: I'm sorry but look at that! How super pretty is that? The packaging is gold and pretty. People have said that the packaging is cheap because their window popped off but I really haven't had that problem.
Swatcheeddeedd and then blended
Color & Consistency: The color is a gorgeous straight up peach with gold shimmer. I have heard people say that this is a dupe for NARS Orgasm and I totally disagree because this blush doesn't have pink in it. This blush looks about as natural as a blush is going to look on my complexion and I like that. The consistency is nice. This blush doesn't go on splotchy and it really is not powdery either. I've worn this all day and I didn't really notice any fading by the end of the day. This blush is just awesome and I want a couple of the other colors.
How it looks on meee
BASICZ:
Pros:
-such a beautiful baked blush
-the result of this on your skin is also beautiful
-not too expensive at 8$
-looks quite natural
nice consistency, not powdery
Cons:
-I've heard that the packaging broke on a couple people so that sucks..but thats really it.
Would I recommend this? YES. I love this blush. I definitely want to pick up some other colors from this line.
Thats it for my review!I leave you with my cat!I put a blankie on him and he looks super mad and sleepy about it!
Have a nice day everyone!
I have Luminoso and it's really nice. I haven't picked up a Wet 'n' Wild blush yet because of the color selection. They're all shades I already have. But everyone has good things to say about them, I'm really curious.
ReplyDeleteI hate frosty lipsticks as well. I don't find them flattering. xx
